Four days into the new year and it seems as though most people I’ve run across are emphatically declaring that they are not setting a new years resolution. Why has setting New Year’s Resolutions gone “out of style”?
Resolution is really just another way of saying long term goal setting- or something we want to improve or achieve over the next year. Why is it now uncool to set a goal? Fitness and health improvement resolutions always top peoples’ list at the start of the new year and so to follow the pack and set this kind of goal may seem redundant and cliche. So grab the person closest to you, declare your resolution, and get to work on achieving that goal!

Intrigued I called my friend Coy and asked him to meet me for a cup of coffee at a coffee shop whose name I won’t mention because, frankly, they don’t need any more advertising. His story couldn’t be all that bad, right? Wrong. Dead wrong. Continue reading →
